Stopping Auto Theft: Virginia State Police HEAT program

Getting back to that, does HEAT have a website?

Yes, sir.

We are at heatreward.com. There's plenty of information there.

There's a listing of events where you can find us.

uh throughout the commonwealth we've got uh events where we will come and for free you can bring your car and we will etch the vehicle identification number on every major piece of glass and that way thieves do see your car they're less likely to break it up because they it's expensive to replace all that glass so it's kind of like putting a uh maybe like putting an alarm sign out front of your home it's just a deterrent to thieves so that's one of the things we offer but otherwise we just we want to talk with people we have some cool show cars we have a chevrolet corvette we have you know a beautiful f-250 with lights all over so we just have cool stuff that gets kids and families to come and talk with us and we just have a fun time just interacting so yeah find the events tab at heat reward submit a tip there as well and of course all of our contact information is on that website too

If you're having a big community gathering for whatever reason, you might want to request that he come out and bring one of their cars.

I've seen it at the state fair.

I've seen it at the NASCAR events at Richmond Raceway.

You guys are all over the place.

I love to hear that.

We're

trying.

I've even got a pair of your sunglasses I picked up somewhere.

That's great.

And that's good because maybe those sunglasses, you'll look at that and remember to lock your car.

That's right.
