Daniel, Amber, it seems that I've reached your answering machine again.

If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought you were trying to avoid me.

[clears throat] Uh, it's, uh, Roderick here, obviously.

I hope you're both keeping well since last we spoke.

It's been what? A, a few weeks now? Time flies.

[clears throat] I just wanted to let you know about some new developments on my side of things.

You remember that when we left Oakwood, I intended to seek out several of our fellow Nostrama, old friends of mine who also happen to be scholars like myself.

They all agreed that there are ripples across the entire kin, a, a collective unease that has placed our enemies squarely on the back foot.

And, um, it seems like the most likely cause of it is, uh, well, uh, the, the two of you.

Your actions over the past few months have sent a shudder right to the very heart of their world.

And that brings us to her.

Now, I, I know that you've said previously that you still intend to hunt shadows down one by one from town to town, but I, I think that after hearing about my research into the Blood Monarch, I may finally be able to persuade you to see things my way.

She is utterly fascinating, this creature, and as I always suspected, she might well be the key to everything we hope to achieve.

In any case, if I have my days correct, I'm guessing that you must be close to reaching your next target by now.
