Vlad, Beau and I catch up on the 1s preseason game and look ahead to Canton this week. We also get into Beau's journey to P State/
So as you, you know, we exit the preseason game, we'll stay with Bo for a minute before we go back to Vlad.
There was a little bit of flurry and I'm like, man, you got the shutout going, even though it's a combined effort.
So how did you feel the team played in front of you defensively? And what did you see from you and your friends in the goaltending corps?
I thought we played good as a team defensively the goalies all played really good like you said we didn't get too much work but the work we did get we did good we were tracking pucks making sure we're making all the saves needed to be being to our spots not doing too much and then our decor they played really well we're really young decor so it was good to see that couple of things to clean up but overall for the first game they did pretty good.
And we even were talking, you know, a little bit in a show I did after the goalie that we faced Stolz, even though he gave up five goals, he played pretty well, you know, to have 52 shots on him.
So I found it interesting that they went with one guy, you know, the entirety of the game, you know, for their first preseason game, too, where it certainly feels like you'd like to get everyone some action.
That game could have been a way higher scoring game, and he kind of kept it to a minimum.
So maybe back to you, Vlad, as you're in there looking sharp and smiling for the fans that are behind the bench.
You kind of are picking up probably, like you said, a little bit of what the coaches see maybe from, you know, a different view of line changes and the D changes and then maybe even the second period, like some of the long changes, like what goes into that.
But over the course of the game, what were you seeing? Did you feel the guys sort of got the legs a little bit more underneath them once, you know, you get five, 10 minutes into the game and people are starting to settle in?
Yeah, I thought we played pretty well, but still, you know, it was their first time, guys playing with each other.
They never played with each other before, and, you know, being in one line in practice and playing a game is a whole different thing.
So, you know, it looked pretty raw at some point, but it's fine for a first preseason game, especially with so many new guys and a young decor.
I thought we had kind of a slow start, but not in terms of our legs not moving.
It was the puck movement.
