Chantell PrestonGuestlove that beautiful i mean i feel like you just summarized uh a large portion of your life yes yes and the impact but you had so many lessons and nuggets of information that i just want to break it down a little bit because the first one that i heard was even your journey as an athlete through sports What you were able to do with that, even though you didn't compete as a student athlete in college, intramurals, yes, but you took the lessons from sports.
And then when you are in the business world, that importance, right? Specialization, we talk about that.
In order to really become high performance and high performing, in any industry that specialization and that repetition of failure and practice that is ultimately what brings that success out and clearly it worked for you and it sounds like that you learned a lot of that through sports so lessons for those parents to take home it doesn't mean you got to be pro you got to play in college right

Well, and let's expand upon that, because a lot of people say, where do you get your confidence from? You know, I walk in the room like I own the place and doesn't mean that I necessarily think I do.

But I think that sense of confidence as to when you're playing sports as a kid, you know, when you get up to bat or you're in the field, you've got to have that confidence that you can do it and how we mentally talk to ourselves.

And so even though I might be fearful walking into a situation, I'm repeating in my head, I'm going to bet on myself every day because I know what I'm capable of.

And I think a lot of that was taught me how to talk to myself in a very positive manner.

And I think that that's something that we take for granted, especially with kids, because you look at youth sports now, it's a little bit different than, you know, I had to say 30, 40 years ago, you know, it's a positive environment.

And that's why it's such a critical time for us to learn those skills, because to your point, they're transitioning into our overall journey of our careers.

And I was just very fortunate to have some folks that really continue to drill that into my head that I am capable of doing anything if I put my mind to it.
