Foxy and I unpack 5 dating archetypes to avoid: the Mansplainer, the Needy Partner who turns you into their therapist, the Future-Planner who’s asking about laundry detergent before you’ve even met…
So the big one that I see so much and like this is really specific to dudes is the mansplainer.
And they are just.
The ones that talk over you.
That know and have the opinion about everything.
And like you're sitting there trying to have that super deep conversation with them or trying to give that back and forth that you have and like, you know, fun.
And every time you try to like bounce back, they're telling you why their reasoning is better and why their everything is better.
And you're just like, this is annoying.
It is so awful.
Can we double tap into mansplaining? What I want to talk about is Like as a woman, Foxy, why don't you respond on this one? How does it feel when men mansplain to you? When they pretend like, or they believe, they believe that everything that they think or they are saying is true.
Like how does that even position you on a date? Like, are you looking at this woman and you're like, man, this chick is pretty clueless.
I better help her out and tell her how it really is.
Like, what do you think is going on with the mansplainer brain? I
don't even know.
Like, I'll have some people that, you know, they do it out of like this idea that they are protecting you or like making you feel safe or better or I don't know.
And then you just have the guys that are arrogant.
Mm hmm.
So like one of my partners, if you want to even call them that, he's a horrible mansplainer.
And we were like having this conversation the other night about just stuff that was going on with us.
And he just kept talking over like, well, this is what you really need to do in this situation.
This is what you really should do.
And I'm like, just stop.
I don't need to know that.
And so I think in some parts, like I know, especially with this one, it came from a place of love.
Like he cares about me and as a friend and doesn't want to see me hurt.
But at the same time, I'm like, dude, I know what I'm doing.
