But what inspired me? to put together Enigma was that I lost a close friend named Glen Brown who plays guitar on two of the songs and he'd been a guitar player known for many, many years.

So I wrote this song called Enigma about him and then sort of packaged the record to, in honor of him, called it Enigma and then have him playing, like I said, two demos that he had played on.

We re-recorded the whole songs, but did it to the tempo so that we could use the demo guitar and include him on it.

So yeah, that was the inspiration for it so as far as the recording going it's really kind of a different thing I've always sort of had a virtual band most of my life where we just sort of sent files back and forth around the country even if we were all in the same city we'd never like record in the same room but this time because we had a band that we had put together after the last record we did it much more like a Like a live band recording, a drummer and I were in the same room for all the tracks, and even my brother Paul, who played piano, was there for seven tracks.

So much more of a live sound, much more, I think, of a consistent band-type presentation than other stuff that I've done.
