- Winners and Losers from Week 3 - Biggest takeaways from the weekend - Dudes of the Week - Heisman 6 - Group of FIVE - Picks for week 4 See omnystudio.com/listener…
We'll start with our winners, and it's hard to start anywhere else other than Oxford, Mississippi, a- and the Ole Miss Rebels.
For everything they did on the field, for everything they did off the field, um, I, I thought Saturday could not have gone any better if you were Ole Miss.
I, I, I think you are at a place now from a program standpoint at Ole Miss where you don't storm the field after beating Lane, and I think that, you know, honestly kind of twists the knife even more.
But I, I'm a big fan of revenge games in college football, and nobody deserved a nice heaping plate of revenge served to them more than Lane Kiffin and more than that LSU roster.
Ole Miss gave it to them, and in the process, uh, established themselves as one of the top five teams in the country, perhaps even better than that.
Had a lot of doubters going into the year about whether or not they could sustain the level of success they'd had post Lane Kiffin, post Charlie Weis Jr., with some of the talent that had exited.
Um, I, I've been an Ole Miss believer and, and even more so am an Ole Miss believer now with the effort that they put forth Saturday night, but the atmosphere was awesome.
And, you know, that's a weekend that, that has the chance, I think, to turn into a real, uh, not bad situation necessarily, but, but I think that there's some unnecessary things that could've been attached to that game.
Some vulgar chants, some objects thrown, some shenanigans in terms of field storms and this, that, and the other, and I thought that Ole Miss handled, ha- handled all of it very well.
Speaking of statements being made, our second winner of the week, it's West Virginia, it's Rich Rodriguez, it's the Mountaineers and Michael Hawkins Jr.
But just looking at the pieces that they had in their backfield, combined with what Rich Rodriguez as a coach likes to do offensively, and you could imagine this West Virginia offense was gonna be a blast to watch just in terms of what they could do on the ground.
But what he's able to do on the ground, what West Virginia as a team is able to do on the ground, they collectively run for 250.
