And I remember being a little kid watching those shows and thinking, wow, that must be what a real family's like.

I honestly thought that, well, if you love somebody and it's right to be together, it just works.

And so, I mean, starting with our family, I mean, our honeymoon, I was confronted with my brokenness.

And so every disagreement we had, I mean, Jill could just have a different opinion.

anger and rage and you know John Gottman Dr. John Gottman talks about the four horsemen of the apocalypse you know stonewalling defensiveness you know criticism contempt I saddled all four of those horses and I wrote him into every you know disagreement every kind of conflict you know and all those types of things and um I mean it was extremely traumatic I mean then I'd get triggered you know, flooded, overwhelmed, and I literally, it was a pattern, you know, that just repeated itself, never ending.

And I would just walk out of the conversation and stonewall, and I'd never come back, never come back to the conversation.
