Accused high country killer Gregory Lynn will remain behind bars after losing a second bid for freedom as he awaits a retrial for the alleged murder of missing camper Carol Clay.
We'd found out the night before that there was going to be a bail decision handed down.
Gregory Lynn is in the middle of the room in the dock, sitting, waiting as well.
As soon as Chief Justice Richard Nile, the head of the Supreme Court, who's overseeing the bail application hearing, walks in, everybody stands up and he really starts reading straight away.
He said, I reject Greg Lynn's claims that his time behind bars had left him fearing for his safety.
Didn't believe that he'd proved his circumstances were really exceptional enough to see him released on bail.
And we know that, yes, all the different reasons why Lynn said he should get bail were essentially dismissed.

And as we heard this, I was sitting in an office where another reporter was also listening on their own link and was looking over to me, both of us at times, because we were hearing this, I reject this particular argument.

Certainly when we heard the rejection of basically that the Chief Justice didn't agree with Dermot Dan Casey's argument, the defence barrister for Greg Lynn, his claims that essentially his client had been on remand for four plus years that that wasn't the the reading he had but as we went through everything it wasn't until that end of that 15 minute hearing you actually hear the bail application has been denied whereas other times we have heard judges come in and say that straight off the bat so we're sort of building to that and there were quite a few people in this courtroom at the time.
