In this episode, Deirdra speaks with Paul Parisotto, CEO of Moon River Moly, about why molybdenum is emerging as a critical mineral for the future of steel, energy, infrastructure, and defence. Paul…
And we're here in Vancouver because this week the city is hosting the BC Critical Minerals Forum, of which Moly, which is short for molybdenum, is a critical mineral.
So maybe before we dive into our conversation, could you maybe just help our listeners understand what is molybdenum, what is it used for, what can it be used for in terms of practical applications and, and even some of those defense applications that are such a hot topic of conversation at the moment?
That's a great question, and we spend a lot of time, uh, explaining to, to our shareholders and to all kinds of people, you know, the, the history and the importance of molybdenum.
And molybdenum, in short, makes, uh, steel stronger, lighter, and anti-corrosive.
And, and so it's blended to make an alloy and for all kinds of applications in the defense industry, in pipelines, in steel, for nuclear reactors, for electric vehicles, for solar panels and, uh, wind turbines.
So it's a metal of the present, but it's, uh, it's a really important metal of the future as well.
