In this episode of the Marion Rose Podcast, I continue my series on the Marion Method (MM) by introducing some of the key maps: especially the psychospiritual map of the relationship between the Soul…

And the maps are ways, um, the maps for me are ways of understanding what's happening to more clearly be, um ...

When we're on those windy roads or the, going through the forests that are very dark or the dark nights of the soul, to actually have maps for these things.

I was going through lots of big questionings, really the first time in, since probably 1987 [laughs] that I was questioning, what am I doing? And is this, is this, you know, am I going to be needing to or am I invited to change how I do things? And I remembered wh- in the middle of it, oh my gosh, I remember Roger Evans, who I learned from at the Institute of Psychosynthesis London, he shared about his dark night of the soul.

And the way I think of it, I think there's such a strong need for us as humans for understanding, for making meaning, for understanding life, reality, our experiences, our relationships.

I see maps as helpful- ways, ways that we resonate with, that make sense of our experience and help us as we're traveling the journey, just as having that map last year.

The, the need for information, but also the need for, for meaning and for purpose and for understanding, I think these are such core human needs.

And I know for me, so many of these maps, that map last year and the maps in the MM work, so I find so helpful.

And I hear this from my mentees as well, is having, um, the particular elements of these maps.

What I find so often is they, they bring understanding which actually helps be with, particularly with the pain, more painful times as well.

And for me, this is part of the psycho-spiritual map actually in itself, which I did learn so much from, from Psychosynthesis by Roberto Assagioli, and which I then also, um, brought my own flavor, my way of understanding to, which is that we are a soul, we are a soul, a wise soul.

And in Psychosynthesis, it was called bifocal vision, and actually we had trifocal vision as well.

The way I see it in the MM is finding ways to, uh, not finding ways to, to really hold that we are both.
