The Business of Mahjong: Collectors, Waitlists, and Whimsy

And we think it's more than just lessons.

So let's go into, but let's go into lessons.

Okay.

I'll talk about lessons.

Okay.

So, um, There's obviously, when people first start getting into Mahjong, there are beginner lessons.

There are strategy lessons.

After you learn how to play, you can go and you can do this privately.

We've done a private lesson before with Linda Block.

Yeah, that's right.

She was on the last episode.

Yeah, so she came and taught four of us and walked around behind us to see how we play because you can read a lot.

You can watch YouTube videos to learn.

There's lots of great stuff out there.

She needed to watch the choices that we were making

individually.

The other thing, too, is let's talk about the beginner.

Did

you pay for a beginner class? I paid $10 for a beginner class at my club, and it was a ginormous lesson of about...

40 people with two teachers with microphones.

Okay, well, I paid for a lesson from me and my sisters and my best friend to do it at Christmas as a gift.

So, yes, I paid for it.

Have you paid for it? We just paid to have Linda Block.

We wanted to gift her and her knowledge.

And the reason we wanted her to teach strategy, because there's like 101, 102, or strategy, she's won like 13 national tournaments.
