EPISODE 5 - Three Letters, A Whole Lot of Boars (Ted Laird)

We talked about, you know, just getting things started and, you know, obviously being a family thing.

As you guys got started and decided, hey, we're going to take this Borscht deal on when Jake kind of graduated college, what's the hardest lesson or maybe just one thing you learned kind of the hard way when you were trying to get this started out? I guess the

biggest challenge was facilities because we were pouring every penny into Borscht, which made my dad...

Extremely nervous.

So we were doing it, running the studs and also renovating barns.

So up until we built this barn, the big stud, you know, our guys had taken out concrete and resided everything.

Um, so getting facilities to the point where, you know, we, we don't have to do the construction.

Yes.

But it lets you remember how you got out of here.

And, uh, certainly memories will forget, I guess a little side note to that.

I always think it's interesting.

So Jack wrote a ball.

Um, you guys obviously know the road of all family or what I presume most people do.

If you don't, you're probably listening to this podcast.

Uh, so the house we bought, so we bought, we started in 2012 through real quick and there was a house that came up for sale directly across the road with the fields between us.

Um, so we ended up buying there and that house is where Emily wrote a ball, which is Jack's wife.

So I think it's interesting, you know, to have PBG in the home of a future art go-to-ball fan.

Interesting.

I'd say that.

I mean, it was, you know, it's an old barn.

It was like 1920s, completely remodeled.

It was good.

A lot of work to get it done, what you're trying to do.

That, I would say, has been, along the way, was the most

difficult part.
