It follows a young man named Bear, who has a crush on a young woman named Nikki.
Even when Nikki directly asks him if he's interested in her, he cannot bring himself to answer in the affirmative.
Rather than have a proper conversation with Nikki, Bear wishes that Nikki would love him more than anyone else in the world.
Nikki cannot remain herself while loving Bear more than anyone else in the world, because she doesn't know him.
Instead, the old Nikki is locked inside of the new Nikki, struggling to escape.
Periodically, the old Nikki resurfaces, expressing her horror at what Bear has made her become.
She watches Bear sleep, and she tapes the door shut in a bid to prevent him from leaving the house.
Bear, dissatisfied with the outcome of his wish, contacts whoever is in charge of the wishes and asks if there's anything that can be done.
Bear is offended that the old Nikki would rather die than be with him and refuses to honor this wish.
The new Nikki gets jealous of any other woman who shows any interest in Bear and is even willing to commit murder to prevent other women from approaching him.
Unable to find any way to put a stop to Nikki's increasingly disturbing behavior, Bear ingests a lethal dose of oxycodone.
Immediately regretting this decision, he tries to induce vomiting, but before he can do so, the new Nikki is able to make a wish that he falls in love with her.
When he dies, the old Nikki is finally free, but she's horrified by everything that has happened, and the film ends on a sad note.
