My Conversation With Jamie Davis, Candidate for U.S. Senate in Louisiana

So, One thing that you have made sure to fairly consistently do is you've never made it about...

You've never made this about the president or any of the big national topics.

You've talked a lot about these issues that affect us.

We call them kitchen table or I call them kitchen table issues all the time.

I don't hear you talk about the president.

I don't hear you talk about any of the stuff happening far away.

You talk about the stuff here in our state.

That's what affect people here in Louisiana the most.

That's bottom line.

When you're living here in Louisiana, you're dealing with pulling up to the pumps and paying $6 for diesel.

My brother, he owns a trucking company, and he also has a little small herd of cattle.

I, myself, I'm a row crop farmer.

I grow cotton, corn, and soybeans on 3,200 acres, so...

Just people in my community dealing with different issues and everybody's issues is not the same.

But, you know, the fight all comes back down to just wanting a better way here in Louisiana.

One of the issues that is a national issue, but is also very much local, especially up in North Louisiana.

data centers.

You've got the Metadata Center.

It's a $50 billion capital investment project.

We've seen some economic benefits.

Teachers get massive raises in Richland Parish.

But you've got concerns about data center growth in Louisiana.

Yeah.

My main concern is because I don't want us to just jump on the data center bandwagon before we know the effects of what happens with it in a way that We don't know how much water the data centers will consume.

We don't know the real full spectrum of how many real jobs they will produce.
