This week I got a chance to catch up with one of my previous guests - someone many Disney Lorcana players will recognize - that has just started up a brand new channel, The Lore College - Mr Burns. He…
And, and well, and, and that kind of nicely leads into one of our first things that I wanted to talk about.
You've got a new channel, um, The Lore College.
Uh, kind of tell me a little bit about that.
Like, like, what's the, what's kind of the, the, the motivation behind it? Like, where are you going with that channel?
Like, people have way more fun playing a game, uh, that they are also succeeding at.
It might just mean like, "Hey, I started playing this game and I was going 0-3 And, you know, now I'm going 2-1, or I've been to 10 set championships, I've never top eighted one, I finally top eighted one.
If you just get even, you know, 1% better at something, you're so much more likely to keep pursuing that thing, and I think that's one of the major things that draws people to trading card games, is like you never feel like, you know, you're at your peak.
Even the best players in the world, I'm sure they think, "How can I get even better than this?" Right? And it's very rare that you find something in your life that you get immediate reward feedback from, and playing in tournaments is one of those things.
So it is more educational, and it's leaning towards people that like want to do well at set championships or, you know, they like playing in DLCs and they just don't wanna embarrass themselves.
Right.
Yep.
Yeah, there's, you know, it's interesting to find like some channels out, that are out there that, you know, kinda fit that little in between kind of thing, right? You know, you've got a lot of them that are like, you know, "Here's how to play Lorcana.
Here's the basics of it," you know, that are a little bit maybe more on the casual side.
And then you have, you know, some of them that are like the high in-depth kind of-
... things that, you know, that it's like if you were just starting with the game, that stuff may not make as much sense.
Um-
