Omega Back As Champion in AEW plus we Preview WWE SNME from MSG

We're just about two weeks away from WWE SummerSlam.

We've got Saturday Night's Main Event coming up this weekend.

AEW somehow has a pay-per-view next week.

But we're going to start things off in the WWE world.

We're a week off of CM Punk becoming the WWE champion.

So since the last time we recorded, he is still the champion.

We didn't have that same luck with Sami Zayn.

He held the title for a much shorter span of time.

But one thing I was kind of noticing, it was kind of picking up a little bit on.

We talked about this before when it comes to Saturday Night's Main Event and kind of the placement of the four Saturday Night's Main Event throughout the year and how I wasn't a big fan of of the fact that they weren't getting that standalone treatment.

They were too close to PLE's pay-per-views and things like that.

But the more I'm kind of understanding of it, and obviously the Saturday Night's Main event I attended earlier this year in Montreal was a week away from Royal Rumble.

is that these events, I think, are strategically placed closer to these PLEs as kind of a...

I don't want to say a promotion for it, but kind of like a pre-show, if you will.

Kind of a promotion for these.

Maybe not directly, because Saturday's main event this weekend got a lot of stuff going on.

But it feels like...

it feels like no way out of the past, right? It feels like that bumper, right? And a lot of times we had a July pay-per-view.

This year, we didn't technically have a July pay-per-view.

But this feels like a bumper to SummerSlam.

I remember in 2006, and this is what kind of brought all these memories back.

In 2006, Saturday Night's Main Event returned for the first time since I had been a WWE fan, because it was on in the early 90s.

And then it showed up in 2006.

And I remember from the 2006 show, it was all about WrestleMania 22.

There was even a banner in the arena as part of the aesthetic for Saturday Night's Main Event that said, like, 21 days till WrestleMania.
