so were you just fully immersing yourself in that for those first two years yeah and that's like your apprenticeship as well
as as well as what I was obviously working I was at college I was doing sport and fitness at college just anything that I could do I was good at PE in school I was like do you know what what can I do

What's the mindset of your parents at this point? Are they just supporting you and thinking this is a hobby? My dad's seen how driven I was.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not making my mum out to be pure enemy here, but she was like...
both be good cops but I feel like it was different because I'd kind of my mum and dad split up when I was wee right so I was staying with my dad and I went to my mum's a couple of times during the week kind of thing so my dad was the one that was really dealing with it all like this is what he wants to do this is what he's going to do and my mum was kind of like Aye, that's great, but what's the plan? What's the bigger picture here? And I'm like, what the fuck are you talking about? There's no bigger picture.
Do you know what I mean? I want to be the biggest I can be so that's kind of where it all started and then my dad and my dad everyone was great to be fair but aye my dad shout out to my dad man because he'd said we'd said we'd done we set up my full setup in the living room right okay and we got these big ass speakers man that I bought for a disco company honestly man the house was shaking when they thought the windows were gonna fall in man in the living room there I swear and um and that's kind of where it all went but see from then on in it's just been since 19 years old man it's just been everything I've wanted to do I was lucky enough that you know I managed to work my way into Edinburgh a couple of years later and then make it my full-time job I always said to my dad my dad was like where do you want to go with it all and me being short-sighted at the time I was a bit like I'd love to be a resident DJ I would just love to DJ

Because I think, see, like with any creative industry, I think as you progress, there's other layers and levels that you don't know exist until you move up.
That was the thing, I was... really unaware of like the edinburgh scene what was happening student nights i was like what what do you mean what do you mean clubs are open in edinburgh seven nights a week what so like that kind of thing i was a bit like this is mental um but i was never very good at i was never very good at doing jobs like other jobs while i was a dj civilian jobs i hated it mate hated it I have a passion I don't know right I could have got myself in some good places as well worked in a jewellers when I first started DJing I know eh mental but like I was showing up severely hungover and I got tell to stay through the back and stuff like that and it wasn't good but I ended up doing ended up working with my dad and we were like we were running a like a trade counter for windows right windows and doors and stuff like that so we were working for them and they were all over Scotland We ended up doing the one in Glasgow But that was Monday to Friday And I was just My head was just not in it Just not in it at all

But sometimes I think you've got to not suffer, but I think you've got to put yourself in a position where you're doing a normal job if you want to then test how much you want to pursue something that is creative.

I don't care what it is you do, right? If it's an artistic outlet and you want to make it your career or you want to try and build a life in that, it's hard, man.

and I don't buy into all this you have to suffer for your art you don't have to suffer but when you first start out it is hard like money shite you're struggling you will lose relationships you'll lose friendships things will break up and you need to keep pushing through it
