BECKY LYNCH on wrestling, childbirth, Ireland, and other shenanigans!

so long love what is with Irish and potatoes

I love potatoes but

who was the first guy like here's here's the first Irishman eating a potato right it's like oh I haven't eaten in about 14 days what I wouldn't do for a scrap of food oh look a rock you know how did they even know this was food it looks like a freaking rock like who was the first Irishman that ate a potato

I feel like they weren't, they're not even like native to Ireland.

Are you telling me these aren't Irish? They look like Idaho.

Oh, did they start in the United States? I know, I don't know.

They snuck over on a boat? I don't know.

I don't know where they started.

But I think it was the easiest crop to build, to harvest.

Yeah, they don't take much.

They don't take much.

And so that was...

Just

lay them on the ground and spit on them and they'll grow.

And the Brits took all the rest of our crops.

So we were...

Oh, wow.

So that was the crop that was left to us to eat.

Wow.

And it was like the cheapest and it was the one that you could grow the easiest.

And the British took all the rest of the stuff.

And so then the Irish became synonymous with the potato.

Now, sometimes you say potato...

Have you ever heard that? A

potato.
