Episode 21 - The Wrong Missy

What's so funny? This actually isn't funny, but when I was watching it again for the purpose of this podcast, I Googled who wrote it.

It'll say Kevin Barnett.

If you click on Kevin Barnett, it then goes to 32-year-old Kevin Barnett, who was a stand-up comedian, writer, creator of the Lil Rel show, who tragically died at 32 in Mexico a few years ago.

And he's Black.

And I was like, a 32-year-old Black guy wrote this movie? Absolutely not.

I was so confused.

I was like, how did this happen? Because the movie feels like a white dude in 1997 would have written this movie, right? And I was so thrown by this.

And I'm asking Google, and then it's like, oh, but he also wrote it with his writing partner, Chris Pappas.

And I'm looking up his writing partner, and I'm like, this still seems... off.

And then finally, it turns out that it wasn't that Kevin Barnett at

all.

Mine just said that immediately.

It was like, Kevin Barnett, not to be confused with the Kevin Barnett that had passed away.

And yours was like,

yours took you through a runaround.

Yeah.

Mine was like, to be confused with the Kevin Barnett who tragically passed away.

Wait, but I'm on Google and you're on Google? Is this Google? Yeah.

This is so weird.

I guess it's all the energy we're saving.

Google wasn't there.

Now I'm going to see if it happens again if I because this was on my phone and I'm wondering if.

OK, hang on.

So if I click.

Yeah, it goes to 32 year old comedian Kevin Barnett who died.
