Episode 17 - Scarface

Now I actually watched Scarface

for the first time in my whole life this past year.

And then you suggested it.

So I thought, sure, let's do it.

But I had never seen it before.

What's your history with Scarface?

I'd actually not, I had never seen it before until lockdown.

I think I watched it over lockdown.

And then I watched it again a couple weekends ago.

I went to a wedding with Johnny, but there was like a break.

So we watched Scarface on the break.

And

I really like, really like Scarface.

There's a lot, there's a lot going on.

The catchphrase is iconic.

Say hello to my little friend.

Say

hello to my little friend.

But I think the Scarface poster was in every American male's First apartments.

You move out of your parents' house, you're going to college, whatever, you get your first job and you get your first apartment.

The first thing every American male did was buy that poster and then like thumbtack it to their wall.

Maybe the living room, maybe the bedroom, but it was, it was there.

was funny johnny was like nobody ever really like said anything about the fact that he's like al pacino's italian playing a cuban and i was like yeah but it's al pacino like if i were cuban i'd be like yes please have al pacino that couldn't happen now right people

would be pretty i still think it could happen now i think people would let al pacino play whatever you wanted okay okay but that would be Is that is it as offensive to cast an Italian in a Cuban role as it I mean, you know, is that like Hollywood being Hollywood racist or it's it's it

somehow works? I mean, I'm sure some being racist, but it works because it's Al Pacino.
