On today’s solo episode, I’m sharing my postpartum playbook and taking you through my first month after having Reign. I dive into the systems I put in place before giving birth, from having full-time…

So today I'm back with a solo and it is going to be all things postpartum because in my last episode, I had said that I was going to do an episode on postpartum, how I'm doing the systems that I have set up because I feel like this deserves a whole conversation in and of itself.

Now, before I dive in, I will say that I think that you are either going to absolutely hate me or absolutely love me by the end of this episode, because it is very honest.

But truth is, I really want to bring my experience to you guys in a very unfiltered way, because I feel like it's really worked for me.

So First and foremost, I think having gone through both pregnancy and postpartum, this is a much more macro conversation, but I do feel like systems are failing women.

I think the reason I had such a positive, great experience with my pregnancy was of course number one is like luck genetics all of that you know i was healthy and i had it fairly easy in terms of okay like i didn't have any complications you know i didn't have any like debilitating nausea first trimester i i don't i i never even threw up and you know for the most part it was a fairly smooth pregnancy however i will say Outside of the luck and genetics and all of those factors that are completely out of my control, there was so much that I was able to do throughout my pregnancy that was within my control.

And having gone through this pregnancy and going through postpartum right now, I just feel like we... need better systems to support women as they go through this process.

Because I think the reason I was able to work as efficiently as I did throughout my pregnancy, feel as good as I did, the fact that I worked out throughout my pregnancy was also because I had systems to support myself.

And I've talked about this in other episodes, but, you know, I got body work done almost on a weekly cadence.

And if not, you know, I would do a lot of Pilates by Bryony as well, which, of course, everyone can do.

But truth is that I had a lot of support to kind of personalize my experience of like optimizing pregnancy.

I will say that when Nish and I, even at the beginning of our relationship, when we were mapping out what we wanted our lives to look like, we always said that we would not have kids until we could afford to do it in the way that we wanted.

And for us, both of us, right from the beginning, and I'm talking about when we were like in our early 20s with kids nowhere near the horizon, right? It was always that we wanted full-time help.

And if we look at it anthropologically, you know, it was never that women were doing child rearing alone or it was just a couple.
