Carolina Reis OliveiraGuestVonda WrightHostSo that being said, what do you, what are you excited about in the next three, five, maybe 10 years? Will we get to a place with skin science that all we need is root cause? Will we get there in maybe 10 years? Where do you see it coming?
I think we are getting more, uh, we're gett- getting better and better in understanding how we can act on these, uh, fundamental mechanisms that are driving aging.
I think for people that are young, they are gonna definitely benefit a lot from this research, and they are getting more educated and, you know, starting earlier.
For people that are already in whatever age, I think we need to get better in how we can repair more of that damage that we have accumulated.
So I'm just so excited about everything that's coming up with AI, you know, or we can see in our own lab how things are evolving.
We can get a lot better in our development and understanding how we can work with our biology.
And I think I'm just so excited about bringing skin to the conversation, to this longevity conversation, right? It's not only...
We're, we're not t- talking about just beauty or in the dermatology setting.
We're talking with, like, longevity experts, and this is part of how we think about our health.
So this question is a little bit out of order, but, uh, I b- as I sit here talking to you, I think about the things you've been saying, and I'm thinking about your biologic skin clock and the fact that you sampled from very young through the ages.
I'm writing a book right now that really focuses on can we do things to never decline, and at what point...
What is the critical decade that we reach our peak and then maintain our peak forever? So in your ti- in...
I mean, you have the data, right? Do you see a pivot point where our skin goes from really youthful, expressing all the biomarkers of youth to, "I don't know what happened.
I looked in the mirror and suddenly is bio..." Is there a biological tipping point?
Interesting enough, the biological shift on the DNA regulation, it starts around our 30s.
And then, uh, but we can sta- but we are gonna see the effects of that shift later in life, right? Like in our 40s.
