Dom HarveyHostthe for lack of a better term on the fly negative sentiment that you're feeling is due to the last couple episodes i think being among the least suspenseful kind of end games in the history of surviving like we missed coming in last week uh to break down the siri and devin's boot episode but i don't think that like honestly if there was any episode to miss all season i think that might have been the one and then this finale played out i think in basically the exact order that pretty much anyone tuned in to even a semi-meaningful extent to like how people had been edited to this point probably would have projected uh so how much of it has to do with that kind of like ending on a fizzle suspense wise

She tried to regain her footing, she did her best, but really she was just going to be out the door after that.

You went from a pretty open and interesting endgame, even though your framing of that had to shift with just how big and long the season was, to, okay, this is just absolutely completely sewn up.

The edit's telling you only one thing is really possible, even though... game logic wise it turns out that that outcome in Aubrey winning was actually the least likely outcome or it itself was unlikely even heading into that final immunity challenge it's not like one of those seasons where you know the winner is guaranteed to make it to the end because people just want to take them and also they're going to win like no she she had to win her way there and as she flagged up She couldn't bet on that the way that many other contestants might be able to.

She doesn't have a long list of immunity necklace wins on her otherwise very long and decorated resume at this point.

So once Seri and Evans were very tragically lost back to back, It's not like any other outcome really felt plausible.

And I felt like the edit and how much of this is just the editors dropping the ball here versus just doing their best with what they had to work with.

It really felt like we had not been set up for that outcome to be especially satisfying or make much editorial sense.

I would still have my Team Aubrey pink t-shirt from Game Changers if I hadn't lost it in some airport somewhere.

And if you told us back then, certainly, like, okay, you're going to be doing this in 10 years.

When we learned that she was a somewhat late addition to the cast, we thought, well, I'm not sure if that's a wise move from her, just given how the last time went, and if she's going to be in a good headspace for it, but I hope it goes well.

And it went about as well as anyone could ever possibly hope, and yet I'm still not quite sure why, even as someone who, you know, I like to think I'm paying careful attention to the episodes and have devoured all of the post-game stuff, it still feels like there's just...

some big gap there that uh you know that information and then the show itself was just not able to fill properly
i mean we've talked for many many years at this point about maybe maybe i shouldn't be uh including you in this position that i just strongly hold but i'm going to do so for to max out my own credibility uh I think that the two most important things in a season these days, and this has been the case for a long time, are the cast and the edit.
