Quake discusses the Drake vs Jay-Z, Akademiks & Charlamagne beef, a judge allowing Keefe D’s book to be used as evidence in Tupac murder trial, Lil Durk pushing to separate new charges ahead of August…
First, what I want to jump into, and I just want to briefly talk about this because I really don't care to cover it because I think it's just stands fighting amongst each other.
And this is the Charlemagne and academics thing that's going on.
If you haven't been aware, basically...
Academics is calling out Charlemagne and a lot of people on Academics' side, aka Drake's side, calling out Jay-Z influence, Roc Nation influence content creators and Charlemagne falls under that umbrella.
And I don't know the full gist of it, of how exactly it started, but basically... is being quote-unquote exposed or being looked into that Charlemagne is being financed by Roc Nation to a certain extent and to push narratives for Jay-Z, which is no surprise to me.
I mean, I don't know why people are surprised that I've said this from decades, like literally, I mean, you guys, I wasn't creating content around this time, but I knew around 2009, 2010, that Jay-Z was the media's sweetheart, where he was the media darling, where if anything negative was being reported, outlets would shift attention to something more positive, always.
I would see it in front of my eyes all the time.
And why did I say this? Well, I mean, I always go to this reference because you can go on YouTube and actually find this.
Literally rolled out a red carpet for him.
They never rolled out a red carpet for the artist.
That's not a clear-as-day bias, clear-as-day... hey, we like this guy, we favorite this guy.
At that moment, I knew at 2009, I was 14 years old that, hey, clearly there's a bias towards Jay-Z in the major media.
And the problem is with major media is they don't admit it.
They won't say it.
Because clearly if they say it, then...
It hurts the ratings.
It hurts people's perspective when they say on, you know, like for me, for example, me saying I'm a 50 cent fan, it's clear as day, you know, that when I report on 50, you can at least look at it from a perspective of, of he might be biased because he's a fan of 50.
Even though I feel I'm very fair when it comes to 50, I feel like, Hey, there's certain points.
Well, well, you'll hear me say, Hey, This is the situation where if 50 dropped an album, you'd probably do the same amount of numbers, you know, or maybe a little bit more.
But regardless, we'll talk about that a little bit later.
