I look at the last 15 years, the guys who really thrived are rappity rappers.

The Kendrick is a rappity rapper.

The Legacy-

Drake is a rappity rapper.

But getting older, it's like, seeing, like, Kendrick and Cole.

Kendrick is somebody that I feel like never conformed to nothing.

And like we mentioned, she has reunited with a collaborator, Kendrick Lamar, and it feels so good.

They haven't made a song in 13 years.

And they sound so good together.

So this was a topic that kind of came up around 2024 during the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle, right? And J.

Cole, I guess, was part of it.

I'm wondering now, today we have people like the Kendrick Lamar and others that are sort of, you know, even Solange Knowles are getting into that commentary of rap, even though they have their own style.

What do you think that, you know, because you mentioned jazz and rap.

Do you think that we'll come back around to have positive feedback messages in the fusion of jazz and rap

i think it is coming full circle with message

you know because there there are messages going on now in in hip-hop and it is coming full circle with kendrick lamar you know um what he's saying and of course you have, of course, Nas is, you know, of course, he's been, he's not the same generation as Kendrick Lamar.

Nas has been around for over 20 years, you know, so, but yeah, but I think there is, there is, it does come back full circle, and there are people that preach the message, you know, even in every generation of hip-hop, you know, and that's the thing, I mean, you have Mos Def, and you have Talia Kweli, who are reuniting to create the Black Star album again.
