I’m approaching 10 years of working for myself, and for the first time I’m looking back at the full arc of my entrepreneurial journey – not just the revenue numbers, but the lessons, relationships…
And I had just come off of this really incredible life altering trip with my best friend, where we drove cross country from her home in Fayetteville, Arkansas to the Grand Canyon and back.
But for me, it was because it showed me what a version of my life could look like when I had no rules or boundaries, except on my time specifically, except for what I wanted to do.
I was flying back into a work life that felt like it just wasn't allowing me to grow in the ways that I wanted to.
And I felt like I was flying back to a certain level of complacency that was... you know, holding me up and supporting me in many ways.
I wanted the excitement, I wanted the freedom, I wanted much more creativity, and I wanted much more agency over my time and my life.
And so when I transitioned to working for myself, I still had, um, I still did work for her.
But what was kind of like the impetus that made me feel like I could start working for myself was that I was teaching yoga at the time.
