Founder Series: Turning Crisis Into Opportunity - The Accidental Birth of a Cold-Plunge Empire with Ryan Duey

I had a wild transformative 60, 90 days that took place prior to Plunge.

I mean, I went to, Capital Floats was, we were about to open our second location.

We were about three months out.

I flew to Hawaii March 12th.

Life was normal.

I flew home.

Sacramento was shut down.

Auburn was now stalled from opening.

you know, obviously the world was turned upside down.

It was not unique to me, but came back to the businesses, shut down, um, my, you know, long-term partner at the time, uh, who we are together now and expecting our first, but we ended up breaking up two weeks, about a month into the COVID.

So I went through businesses, shut down, broken up long-term relationship, um, Not really very confused on where I was going.

Ended up deciding to sell all my stuff and move into an RV and really just reset my life.

This wasn't so long ago.

This was beginning of 2020.

You know, this all happened super quick.

Was able to get Capital Floats back open.

Rye and I got back together, worked through a lot of stuff.

I moved out and then Mike, this all happened within a few months.

And then Mike, my co-founder, pitches me on, hey, I'm building these coal plunges in my garage.

What do you think? Do you think we could sell a couple of these to our...

do you think we build a few and sell a few and i told him no to start i was obviously working through a bunch and i said yes and then we launched i think september 9th of 2020 and off to the races
