🎿 One chalet. A different ski resort every day. Could this be the ultimate way to ski the French Alps? In Episode 35 of The CarveCast, I’m joined by Jules Heaton, the ski enthusiast behind Chalet…
So, um, Jules has stated in there that they built a, uh, chalet and it is an absolutely stunning chalet.
And I think the, the key to it is the location rather than anything else.
And I've done actually quite a few podcasts talking about how amazing the Tarentaise Valley area is, the Tarentaise region, because it has five, well, four massive ski resorts and one fairly decent sized ski resort, and we'll talk a lot about that a little bit later on.
But just, um, tell us about the actual chalet itself, sort of regardless of the location.
So, um, we, we, we sort of built it, um, my background's marketing but I also, um, was in hospitality.
I used to run the O2 and, uh, worked on various films and I worked for Warner Brothers and stuff.
So my whole kind of background is entertainment and, and hospitality, and making sure people have an amazing time.
So the, the concept for the chalet really, and that's why it's called Wonderland because it, it, it sort of really delivers that, um, it's a, it's a really playful, fun, extremely spacious, um, uh, uh, house.
Um, all the bedrooms are on the middle floor but there is a sort of self-contained apartment if you like on the ground floor.
And we sort of positioned it very carefully so that it wasn't facing, um, the Route de Condout, the, the main road up, going up to Val d'Isère.
We positioned it sort of on a, on the side so that whenever you woke up and went upstairs for your coffee, you c- you just got amazing views of, of, of both sides of the mountain.
It's got, it's got loads of the mod cons, an amazing kitchen, um, beautiful French, uh, range, huge, uh, three and a half meter island where you can kind of cook and, uh, just have a fantastic kind of social cooking sort of experience.
Wow.
