I'm Robin Cleverick, and joining me first to talk about the use of AI for trade-based contractors and businesses is Danny Webb.
Danny is a successful electrical contractor who has a book out about quoting for work, and runs Alfotech with his business partner, Mike Toulson, who both regularly appear on Fix Radio's Electrical Show.
And, um, I can just walk around and dictate what I'm seeing, upload photos and videos and, and generally just say email myself, um, and it'll email me a summary to pick up later.
I can bounce around a few sites and do that, so that's saving me a lot of time on the site.
And as an electrician, I can upload regulations that are relevant, um, screenshot pages of the book, and then say, "With all the information you've got, now can you put together a full survey report with photos, time scales, reference BS numbers, all the key regulations, and draft that together?" It's gonna put that together for me in, like, less than a minute.
And these sorts of things in the past, I could have spent a day or two doing those surveys-
Then I've gotta wait for them to say, "Yep, now can you get a quote on that?" All of that can take two weeks.
Doing what I just explained will probably take me about two days, 'cause I'll get home-
