The Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup over the Vegas Golden Knights in a six game series.
I was a little scared there for a moment that Mitch would actually be lifting the cup.
and uh wins eventually the cup for the carolina hurricanes but like i said at the top we got a lot of news to talk about um but i guess the carolina hurricanes deserve their flowers finally getting over the hump getting to the finals and ultimately winning the prize trophy uh in hockey so Joe, throw it to you.
Take it away what your thoughts on the finals were quickly, I guess, or quickly enough.
And Caroline, obviously, beating your team in the conference final and actually finally doing it.
Like I kept saying it during the Montreal games, like it felt like Carolina, the way they play, it's like there's an extra guy on the ice.
And when they were able to kind of lock down Vegas, I would say game four onward, they found something that clicked.
remember in game three they also had that four nothing comeback in the third period like something clicked where they recognized takes a way to expose them and they just did that the rest of the series and won it ultimately they won three straight games um but like games one to four were like probably the best games i've seen a cup final in a very long time like super entertaining comebacks, blown leads, overtimes, double overtimes, but even just like the swings, the moments that happen, like just unbelievable hockey.
So like just the ultimate Carolina kind of game plan where it's like more, more low scoring, very good defensively.
uh it kind of just locked it down but like overall a fantastic cup final we i know i know in years past they always say it's like oh carolina vegas carolina dallas carolina like they finally got it done the carolina hurricanes and they did it like as a full team jordan stall one con smite he basically did nothing into like offensively until the cup final where he almost broke a record with the most goals in a cup final i think he had what six
