Rod PalmerHostRichard GreaserHostOver the last few decades, the libertarian movement, and when I talk about the libertarian movement, I'm predominantly talking about the political movement which dominates most of the attention around libertarians, uh, because the ones that are not involved with politics are typically off in the woods doing drugs or whatever they do.
But the libertarian political movement has been a mockery of the concept of freedom for a long time.
And, uh, things looked pretty silly in twenty twenty with Jo Jorgensen running, and they culminated in the silliest possible way in twenty twenty-four with, uh, now President Trump speaking at the Libertarian Convention and the party electing Chase Oliver as their presidential candidate.
The, the Libertarian Party and libertarians in general, they, they believe in this concept of using a political party that will never win to try and promote the ideas of freedom.
What they, what they wanna see is they wanna see more zoomers chanting the words, "End the Fed." They want people to be issuing the same, uh, political purity test.
They want people listening to Dave Smith and repeating all the things that he says and talking about how great Ron Paul was or is.
And they have no intention of ever making a difference in the world or winning.
But folks, this doesn't have to be how it is, because now we have AI, and we have a legitimate way to replace politicians to push back against the state.
Uh, the titans of industry, the titans of government are trying to replace you with AI.
Rod, what do you think the most effective way of replacing politicians with AI is?

I, I don't think it's that bad because it, it didn't always look this bleak for libertarians.

I mean, in two thousand and twelve and in two thousand and sixteen, Gary Johnson was the nominee for president, um, for the Libertarian Party, and he got the most votes, you know, in recent modern history by a third party.

I mean, Gary Johnson, didn't he pull, like, almost two percent, three percent of the vote in, uh, is it in two thousand and twelve or two...

It was two thousand and sixteen because, you know, Trump and, and Hillary Clinton were both so despicable to most of the voters.

And people were arguing whether or not Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton on the margin that, of the voting bloc that went to libertarians, and, like, if they caused Donald Trump to win in two thousand and sixteen or if they, whatever.

What happened that, that the quality of candidate decreased for the Libertarian Party? Is it, is it the purity test? Because I don't know if you saw the debates when Gary Johnson said that he wouldn't make his first priority to be fighting having driver's license for plebs, you know.
