Has Modern Boat Design Gone TOO FAR? | Volume vs Handling debate | The Boat Nuts Ep11

Our boat of the week then is the, uh [laughs] is the Delta 72 Coupe.

I'm laughing because I got some, uh, I got some stuff wrong, and Hugo picked me up on it, so we had to abort mission with our first take of this podcast-

[laughs]

... 'cause I only made it through about 12 seconds before getting it-

That's a new record.

[laughs]

Yeah, it is pretty impressive.

It's not the largest model from Delta.

There is a bigger one, um, but this is the largest coupe from Swedish brand Delta.

Correct.

And it is a super sexy piece of kit, isn't it? You saw it at, uh, Cannes last year.

Very lovely, but it's...

Uh, what I like about it is it is not sort of over the top, in your face sexy.

It's just elegant, paired back-

Mm

... classic sort of Scandinavian design.

It, it's just beautifully balanced, no fripperies.

Yeah.

Just a lovely looking thing.

Yeah.

It's all about kinda Nordic restraint over-

Yeah

... severe ostentation, isn't it?

Yeah.

And it really is all the better for that, I think.
