It's stunning, isn't it? It is.

You can imagine what it must be like in the summer.

Yeah.

I mean, these things always start as a bet, don't they? So there were two Swedes standing on a beach, um, just, uh, on the edge of the Swedish mainland looking out at the Stockholm archipelago.

So an archipelago is a big network of islands, and there are thousands of islands off the, um, Swedish coast in the Baltic Sea.

And, um, the story goes that, um, one of them said to the other one, I'm not gonna do a Swedish accent, "I reckon you can run from here to the Utö peninsula in one day." And the other guy said, "I bet you can't." And it turns out that the other guy was right, 'cause they tried doing it, and it took them three days.

I'm recording this towards the end of June from my home office in Santa Monica, and I'm still savoring the memory of a month-long trip I took last month with my family.

We spent 12 days on the Canal de Veauche and then the Saone River on a rental boat.
