One thing I think people may be a little bit unaware of is how powerful Wall of Roots is.
happy to touch on it from my perspective, Josh.
it.
Wall of Roots is, at its core, just multiple different functions for time in one.
It is a card that passively generates a counter per turn.
Not per your turn, but per player turn, so up to four potentially per rotation.
on top of potentially entering with a vigilance counter.
It, with generating counters, generates mana.
And because it's able to do this at a passive rate of one per turn, that can be a really strong battery that can provide a lot of passive value.
And so there's a lot of different play patterns with Wall of Roots, depending on kind of the timing and availability of it to your hand.
It can be a really good early development piece if you're in a game or a game state that you think you'll have the time to develop it in.
But it can also be a really good drop once you've developed time, once you're looking for a battery, because essentially there's a world where you look at it as every turn it reduces the cost of a time activation by one counter and one mana.
So it can really reduce kind of the overhead there for you.
And I think the final thing, too, which is worth noting, is that if you notice it's a minus zero minus one counter, which a lot of players sometimes mistake for being a minus one minus one counter.
And the interesting thing is if you have other plus one plus one counter synergy, you can stack those plus one plus ones and the zero minus zero minus ones together.
together they don't counteract each other as a normal minus one minus one plus one plus one would and essentially kind of both give yourself a higher overhead or more total minus zero minus one activations for wall of roots to accrue all for potentially more explosive combo moments when you do decide to kind of go at instant speed and push something on the stack
absolutely i think that's super well said something i tell people when i'm playing games with them they're like oh this card's a problem like it's my rustic study all of roots equals times rustic study Yeah.
Right.
It's going to reduce those activations.
It's going to make it easier for me to do things, but it isn't a combo piece.
I'm not going to win the game because I have a wall of roots on board.
I'm going to win the game in 10 turns because I had a wall of roots on board for 10 turns.
