So you've been in the league for a long year, established player, all those things.

What type of added pressures, responsibilities do you feel? Like, do you have to change at all? Like talk us through like the being named captain and kind of how it's changed you.
I feel like when you step into a leadership role, like you've become that for a reason.
I like to bring the group together and make everybody feel valued because I say it all the time.
I feel like to do something special and win a gold medal, it takes every single person in the locker room.
Everybody's got to be pulling the rope in the same direction and just keeping everybody on the same path and feeling like they play a huge part in the team has always been important to my leadership style.

What else would be defining the best team? I think that's such a great message for really anyone, regardless of what you're doing in life.

Like what would be being the best teammate to you aside from just bringing people together?
Yeah, I think like being there for one another and knowing and owning your role.
Like my role has changed over the years, whether it goes from my pro team to the national team.
And sometimes... maybe power play or whatever, but I want to be the best at my job to help my team win.
And so if I can prepare myself in every situation possible in order to be ready when my number is called, if it gets called, I'm going to be prepared.
