What type of added pressures, responsibilities do you feel? Like, do you have to change at all? Like talk us through like the being named captain and kind of how it's changed you.
6:45
Yeah, I've been fortunate enough to like learn from some great leaders throughout my time on the national team and in Boston from Hillary Knight, who Detroit just got her.
6:53
So, you know, she'll be great for the city of Detroit.
6:57
But yeah, I try not to change too much, honestly.
6:59
I feel like when you step into a leadership role, like you've become that for a reason.
7:06
And so my style is not the same as Hillary's or Megan Duggan's was.
7:12
Everybody brings something unique.

11 MINS LATER

18:34
You know, what is, does your message change at all to them? How has your engagement kind of like evolved with the kids? And again, it's an exciting time for the kids to get a chance to be at your camp here.
55:57
You can kinda watch us-
55:58
I'm so proud to be a Michigander, and to be able to come back and play in Little Caesars Arena in, in the state that, you know, I found my love for the sport.
56:08
Will be pretty special to see all the fans in the stands.
56:11
Hockeytown has deserved a women's team for a while now, so I couldn't be more thrilled that they got one, and I know their fan base is gonna be very passionate.
56:20
And hopefully I don't get booed at all.
56:23
[laughs]
56:26
Uh, final thing, Megan, uh, when you come back to Detroit, do you stay at home in your, in, in your, in your bed, or do you stay at the hotel?
56:35
I think the hotel bed may be comfier than my childhood bed.
22:47
So what was it like this time around to shift focus so quickly from this goal, this dream achieved back to the PWHL?
22:54
Yeah, it's actually been really easy and really great.
22:56
And honestly, I think it's been like one of the best things for our sport and for our league to sort of have the impact that we did at the Olympics.
23:03
And then people can come watch us, the same players play for our professional teams or our college teams and As players, I know, like, I think we've felt it in the buildings that we go into, just the amount of fans that are in there.
23:18
And we're selling out TD Garden, we're selling out MSG, and whatever other rinks we're playing in, like, we feel the fans support.
23:27
And I think we got a lot more fans and a lot more viewers just from You know, all that attention we garnered at the Olympics and brought it back to the pro league.
23:34
So it's actually been like fun and easy.
24:17
How did you feel about filling such big shoes or big skates, I should say?
