Kenton Hoppas - Building a Creative Life Through Live Drawing and Daily DisciplineEPISODE SUMMARYIn this conversation, Kenton Hoppus shares how his creative life has become centered around a daily…
And I wanna, um, I wanna state that I didn't come up with a game plan to try something new.
Um, because I think, I don't know, I don't look at my backend on statistics and numbers and stuff, but, um, just what seemed to happen with, um, the, the i- the channel went to 100,000 followers in 30 days, and so with that much of a, a rocket ship people looking at the channel, um, even that sounds like a lot of people, but it was only two videos.
... and I could be wrong, I would love to hear what other creators have found, uh, social media connection, um, one video gets, uh, millions of views.
And so there's, what I'm trying to say is there's so much stagnation going on that you can't look to see how many followers you have, because it's kind of almost like starting new every morning you wo- wake up, you know? It's, uh, thousands of people worldwide or hundreds, no matter where your channel's at, that don't really wake up and check your channel right away.

Yeah, it's less like having a brick-and-mortar 7-Eleven location, and it's more like you have to go and set up your booth every single day-
And if you don't set it up, it's not like they're gonna find it o- organically.
And, and that's what's been great about the live stream because every single day for three and a half years, Monday through Friday that I go live, um, I liken it a lot to rock music or musical theater on Broadway.
They're gonna run that musical theater as long as they can because every night it's a new, new seats are in the butt.
