Hello folks, welcome back to the 5.32, I've almost forgot the time of the podcast.

You would think you would remember the actual time that I named it after, but I did get it.

The 5.32 podcast, episode 15, and we're here with a well-anticipated podcast today from the new Ironman, Andy Finlay.

Actually, I've had a few people message me about this over the past couple of weeks.

I think a lot of people almost absorbed the whole event, the tracking of it, the buzz after it, the videos, the reels and stuff like that.

into like oh I really want to do an Ironman there's a bit of a buzz going about Ironman just now it's become a little bit more of a mainstream thing it's not just your mad uncle that seems to be on his bike every weekend does it there's a few more people doing it now and you are one of them mate you are a full Ironman

But I don't know if it's just because I'm training for one and your algorithm changes.

But I've seen a massive growth over the last year personally in Ironman and getting more popular and races selling out constantly and things like that.

But by any chance, the people that message you, were the mid to late 30s going through a midlife crisis as well? Or was it just random? Yeah, I thought so.

This is probably the age you're at when you're thinking, yeah, I'll do an Ironman now or an ultra or something like that.

don't get me wrong, I think we're about to explain as to why it's not as easy as what it may...

I don't think anyone thinks it looks easy, but it's not just like a walk in the park.

It's not just something that you can just kind of roll out your bed and do tomorrow.

But I think a lot of people are now in a position where they're like, right, that's actually something I want to dedicate time to and I want to do.

So you were... like, you know, I've had one full distance Ironman and then you guys who all completed on the day with the next three and then maybe five or six 70.3s.

And it is, yeah, it's just, it is, even the 70.3 is just another level of, yeah, time spent and commitment to be able to cover all the all the disciplines and it is a it's a sport that it rewards volume um and rewards time spent so yeah as I said that's what we're uh that's what we're going to get into but um just as like a little elevator pitch for anyone that's listening to this that doesn't have a scooby who you are um who are you um
