John Boulware Road to Telluride Part 2 of 2

I get to say this every episode to my listeners, but I rarely get to say this to my guests.

John Boulware, welcome back to T. Shaw's Regressive Bluegrass.

Well, thanks, Trevor.

I appreciate you having me again.

It's

exciting because as we spoke a few weeks back, you just came back from Telluride, Colorado to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and you participated in the Telluride Band Contest, and we're

absolutely going to get into that.

But the journey out there was 1,600 miles, and I'm relatively convinced...

the furthest traveled ever for Randy Steele in the high cold wind.

Easily.

So you had five people in the truck telling about the journey getting to Telluride.

If you've been on long road trips with bands before, you know that it's pretty uneventful.

If you've ridden the tour bus and done the thing, or if you've just piled in a truck and done the thing, you just sit there for a while and you have to find ways to take up your time.

So we had our phones out and we were watching a little bit of the World Cup games and things like that.

And Randy's always good about flipping through the different playlists and everything and keeping some tunes to keep us entertained.

But that's a large part of the job is just keeping yourself entertained in the car, especially when you're driving through Kansas.

THANK YOU.

I tell you what, I made the journey as well.

You did.

I liked Kansas a lot better than Missouri just because the road was in so much better shape.

Absolutely.

Driving through Missouri on 70, the entire state was a construction zone.

The entire state was a construction zone.

And then you get into Kansas, and it was smooth as a baby's butt.

It was, yeah.
