And I will say like when I got to college and I was in the disability center, so I had accommodations in college and I, cannot speak high, like the most high of how they handled, like I had note takers, I had like any type of accommodation I needed.

And they obviously paid the people that to do that work for me.

And, um, it was incredible.

And

that's, yeah.

Those accommodations, having them in place are key.

And I think lots of schools struggle to meet the needs of children with learning differences.

And it's really easy, especially in the private sector, to sell a parent something and give lip service to what they're able to do.

But when push comes to shove, are they really able to do it?

I think that they really should be able to do it because the only accommodations that I had really in high school were, you know, extra time and a different environment.

And sometimes those weren't even given to me.

It was like, oh, are you OK to stay in the class? And sometimes I would say yes and I would do it.

I'd be the last one to finish or they would all be waiting for me to finish.

And I mean, I was used to that at that time and it was OK.

I had confidence enough to know that I was going to do my test until I was finished with it.

But not a lot of kids have that.

You're exactly right.

I think some kids would interpret that, oh, this teacher doesn't want me to leave.

So I better not.

So I better stay intuitively.

I think that it's going to be a disruption.

So I'm just going to stay here.

I don't think they had a space for me to go to or they didn't have a teacher to sit with me.

You know, I was in the Memphis public school system.

So I'm not sure that they had the ability to give me all the accommodations that they would have liked to.
