The Whileaways

But I know there were some personal tough times around the making of it.

Noly and Nicola, will you tell me about it?

Sure.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, because I guess it's a bit, we're doing a bit of talking about this album and it's kind of funny to not mention it because it's not what it's all about, but it's all over it in another way as well.

So when we were about halfway through, The album.

I was four months pregnant.

It had been a long road for Noli and I to get as far as that.

And actually, while we were recording, while we were in the studio, we left to go for a scan to find out that we had lost the baby.

So it was quite the trauma, to put it mildly.

We were at four months and had told all our family and friends and all of that.

So it was a major life event.

So it's kind of no wonder that there's a melancholy around the album.

But I remember hearing a quote afterwards that people say, you know, that grief doesn't go away, that you learn to dance with it.

And maybe in our case, we learned to play music with it.

Yeah, I'm really sorry because it's so upsetting.

And for obviously you as well, Noli.

And I think you haven't talked about it much.

It was interesting.

We were saying actually before we came into studio, all of us, it's one of those things, miscarriage.

People don't talk enough about it.

And especially for the grief felt by the mother and the father.

Yeah, absolutely.

It's something that you kind of go through and then, you know, you don't mention it.
