You know, he scored four goals against London that time.
Fat LarryHOST
56:26
He scored four goals against the Sligo under-14 drafts team.
Fat LarryHOST
56:31
But he did score a lot of very important scores against the dubs down through the years.
Fat LarryHOST

The sports-washing AIG blueskins.
Kevin KilbaneGUEST
58:43
Just everything.
Kevin KilbaneGUEST
58:45
Look, we can talk about what he's done on the pitch, the bargain buy from Sligo to Everton, and first of all, with Blackpool, when he made his impact in helping Blackpool get promoted to the Premier League.
Kevin KilbaneGUEST
58:59
which is something that's overlooked a little bit as well in his career, but then going on to play the amount of games, record holder of Premier League appearances for Everton, the length that he's been around, what he means to Everton Football Club as well, what he has meant to every manager that's gone in, given the troubles that Everton have had over the last while, especially over the last six, eight years or whatever it's been.
Kevin KilbaneGUEST
59:25
And look, for us, certainly as an ex-player, as a supporter.
David WilsonHOST

He turned 38 two weeks ago.
David WilsonHOST

absolutely.
Matthew BrennanPANELIST
10:47
And just happened to be really good at football, which unfortunately not all of us are able to go and do.
Matthew BrennanPANELIST
10:55
So I think that, the perseverance that he's been through his whole career as well, going over from Sligo over to England, wasn't a kid when he went over, he was a little bit older than maybe some of the other guys who've gone and been real successes over there.
Matthew BrennanPANELIST

obviously went out on loan something I always remember him talking about was when he was in training and he always had to make sure that he was running more and he was as physical as all the other lads that were over there because they were just so far ahead of him as far as the technical side of things goes and he was acknowledging that and kind of said to himself well if I can't be as good at football as them right now I need to at least make sure that I'm doing more in every other aspect of the game as I can and he did that and even as you mentioned the really bad injury he got and against Wales that time and coming back from that and since then too really it's not been smooth for him on the injury front too he's been in and out an awful lot it hasn't been simple but I think if this is to be the end and as you say who's to know if it will be although those comments would lead you to believe that it is I think he can hold himself hold his head very high as far as not being involved in the most successful era of Irish football but still coming out with a lot of credit and being regarded by a lot of people who have lived through very successful periods for Irish football and they still look at him and go do you know what he's in with the others he's in with the guys who came before he's in with the guys who got to knock out stages of major tournaments and despite the fact he didn't go and do that he's still kind of led by example and I think that's another thing too when you talk about the leadership and all that sort of stuff And the knock-on of that is hopefully something that other players will have picked up on.

Yeah I'm very very jealous back here in Sligo it has been absolutely horrendous rain and wind for the last couple of days and having not lived in Sligo in a good I want to say like 12 years now I've become very accustomed to Dublin where people get overexcited about like a little breeze whereas here I was like okay this is actually what they mean when they say there's a storm.
Scarlett HerronPANELIST
2:58
Scarlett you were cooking up a bit of a storm on the pitch last week as well? Oh, there's the point.
Scarlett HerronPANELIST
3:05
We actually came up with that on the fly.

There was an assault in a Sligo hotel that you're looking for information on.
John MorganGUEST
0:17
Yes, indeed.
John MorganGUEST

Our first appeal is in relation to an assault that took place on Sunday the 11th of October 2026 at the Riverside Hotel in Sligo.

So there were eight officers transferred to the Donegal units.
Ralph RiegelGUEST
1:49
There were seven officers transferred to the units in Sligo and Leitrim.
Ralph RiegelGUEST
1:54
And proportionally, that's going to have a significant impact because just in Sligo Leitrim alone, that represents almost a 50% increase in the number of officers available within traffic units.
Ralph RiegelGUEST
2:05
There's another class coming out of Temple Moor, and the plan is for that class to also allow further transfers to other road policing units nationwide.
Adrian KennedyHOST
2:15
Now, obviously, the number of road deaths is a very unacceptable figure, going the wrong way in terms of the number of fatalities on our roads.
