Do you know what I mean? Yeah, that happened

to me in a comedy club, in the Sugar Club.

And Emma Doran absolutely roasted me for 20 minutes.

in uh we love you and house of wig go there they're my two recommendations now house of wig is on like once either once a month or once every few months the sugar club it's great and you're sitting in the lovely boots and it's a show it's just such a show they are amazing dancers they incorporate graphics into their it's just high-end drag it's just so brilliant i love it so so much and then where did you go And then we stayed there.

We just partied in the Sugar Club.

There was like a little after party at the back.

Then we went to an after party, though, until about 7 a.m. My latest.

In this episode, we are going to be swapping out the Sugar Club, which is where we normally host our storytelling nights, and instead bringing you to Ireland's National Theater, the Abbey Theatre.

We're here because we are going to be previewing three stories from the Dublin Story Grand Slam.

Their new album, Mother of Christ, is out this Friday, which we'll be reviewing on the show that day.

And you can catch them live around the country this autumn, including Vicar Street in Dublin, supporting Niall Breslin on October 1st, with dates too in Castle Bar, Galway, Limerick, Kilkenny and the Sugar Club in Dublin in December.

I actually think that would be really, really incredible.

[laughs]We also have the House of Wig having their house party on the September 11th in the Sugar Club.

Um, that's gonna have incredible performances by, like, the likes of Naomi Diamond, Donna Fella, and Shakira Knightly, with an incredible lineup of guests that have still got to be confirmed.

Um, so definitely get your tickets for that.

You know, actually, the first concert I ever went to, this is a fun fact, was when I was 16, I went to an Immortal Technique conference at the Sugar Club in Dublin, which is, he is a very far left political rapper from America, and he's like a communist, and so that was back when I was a socialist in my youth, so that's a fun piece of random Ben Scallon lore.

exactly and people I think might sometimes complain that we agree too much on a lot of things maybe we should do a segment on rap sometime because your persistent love for rap remains if it's correct to characterize it that way remains mystifying to me as someone who never ever got into it
