Sep 21, 2026 · 1 hr 8 min · 14 segments
The Roanoke Colony has been lost for over 400 years... or has it? Join your Sirens and their special guest and soon-to-be Anthropologist guest, Mel, as they deep dive into the many theories of what…
Now then, Yenny, Mel, I'm ready for history.
Teach me.
Well, buckle up
because it's weird.
Okay, even better.
I know we love getting context on this podcast, so I'm not surprised Yenny is about to put on her
history teacher cap.
Tis time.
Yay.
Tis time for me to be the teacher.
So now this mystery is older than the nation itself, and it's been unsolved for over 400 years.
But while there seems to be a very logical reason as to why this specific colony disappeared, it seems to still be coined a supernatural mystery of America.
It's also one of the reasons I'm super excited to be here.
This is one of my biggest fixations for a very long time.
We knew we were bringing on an expert.
There you go.
That is the goal of the podcast, to bring in, if we can't become experts, let's bring in other experts.
So the real question is, throughout today's episode...
How could a whole colony just disappear? Where could they or their descendants be? Where would these citizens of the colony of Roanoke go? And why, if there is such an obvious answer, as Yenny implied earlier, why does it continue to be a mystery?
And yeah, we're going to continue going through these questions throughout this podcast episode today, just because It could, all of the theories that we're going to talk about seem very obvious and okay, they could be very good theories, but there's no evidence and that's going to be the biggest thing about this episode, so bear with us.
