yeah I'm sort of always surprised when people have seen it it was a fun show although it was a weird show in that we got there and I was very excited to do a Tudor project and I was expecting sort of Elizabeth the Golden Age and you know the costumes from that in my head and then when we got there they were sort of like oh the producers have said because they're American they were like oh they don't want the Tudor rose they don't want red they don't want earrings they don't want hats they don't want bodies which is the Tudor word for corsets so a lot of it there was a lot of back and forth on that job of give and take of showing someone a design and then them saying oh actually we don't want men to have flowers because that's not masculine or that's not the our vision for this and then it was kind of like me saying well I see a portrait of King Edward and he has flowers on his neck so there was a bit of a weird disconnect for me as someone who loves history and primary research okay do you to sample all this embroidery that's designed very in keeping with the iconography and visual language of the period and then to be told oh no it's not the thing there's a lot of give and take with producers with directors um a lot of times the producers and directors are very excited about the period they're working on so they give the costume the lead my lady jane seemed a little bit like there was a bit more give and take than usual okay but it was very fun and it was a great team.
