Not all sewing classes are created equal and neither are sewists! On this episode of *Stitch Please*, Lisa breaks down six ways to learn, from group classes and private lessons to online courses…
Here are some of the questions that we should think about when you get ready to take a sewing class.
First question: What do you want from this class? What kind of learner are you? Do you want instruction, structure, or community? Do you wanna learn a skill, finish a project, or sew with other people? All of these are objectives that can be met in a sewing class, and that's what we're gonna talk about when we get into actually six different styles of sewing classes.
Now, you might be like, "Six? How on earth is there six?" I feel like there might be more than six, but six is all we're gonna have time to talk about today.
This is where you go in person, you pay a fee, you sit down, and you get instruction.
It's best for hands-on learners, for people who want immediate help, and if you like a structured learning environment.
You might get limited individual attention, or the class might move too fast, or it might move too slow.
So one of the things I recommend for everyone is to read the course descriptions very carefully.
