CROSSOVER EPISODE: Legal Lessons for a Full Kart with EMS 20/20

And now we'll talk about who gave us this call.

This call was submitted to us by Yoshio Tanaka.

Yoshi.

Yoshi T has been a paramedic for two years.

Prior to getting their medic, they spent a few years working as an EMT for a rural BLS agency.

And then once they got their medic, they were hired to work almost right away as the sole ALS provider for a rural area, which did 911 in critical care response.

They described that experience as horrifying, but educational experience.

And said that it really opened their eyes to how paramedic school only gets you to entry level.

They spent a lot of time after their paramedic cert trying to fill in the areas of education that they felt weak at.

And they are now working for a different service.

And that's, and excuse me, and they are working alongside with this call, somebody named Luigi Mariano.

These are not real names for anyone who is curious.

They are

real names.

Yeah, but they are not fair.

I stand corrected.

They just might not be actually associated with the people that they're being pinned to.

All right.

So Luigi grew up around and has spent decades involved in EMS and fire response, but became certified as an EMT about two years ago.

They have spent the last six months working with Yoshi, and Yoshi says that they are an excellent partner.

So Yoshi does have one weakness and that is pediatrics.

Chris, Nick, I think this is a pretty common experience.

We get out of paramedic school and then we have that like, oh my God, I thought I would know more at this point.

And then we go on calls and we're like, nobody told me about this.

That's right.
