Now another difficult injury situation for the Bulls was also announced last week that Zach Collins is going to have toe surgery, missed the rest of the season, and another puzzling injury.
He had what was called a sprained toe originally, then they thought it was turf toe, and then they thought there might be ligament damage, and now He tried to rehab, and he said they just couldn't get it right, so he's going to have surgery, so it's not going to affect him going forward.
But here's a guy that showed so well in the preseason that he could be an important part of this team.
And Zach Collins, in talking to the media, said that he actually apologized to Billy Donovan, saying that, I had a lot more to offer.
I thought I was going to have a big year, and I felt bad that I couldn't contribute more.
Now, as an unrestricted free agent, what do you do if you're the Bulls? I mean, he's been hurt throughout his career.
Do you make a commitment to him, or do you just say, so long? We can't keep another injury-marred player around.
Well, I mean, listen, he's got that kind of same injury we had, you know, Scottie Pippen Jr. on a few weeks ago with that injury.
And then finally, after, you know, having surgery, they finally found out what the problem was and are able to fix it.
Let's just hope that that's not the same situation that Zach's in and whatever it is that's ailing him.
He's a guy, like I said, he's going to – there's going to be some teams inquiring about him because he's a big that can shoot, stretch the floor.
Plus, he's got a good reputation in the NBA as being a hard worker and a good locker room guy.
that precedes even his playing, okay? So I can see him getting some suitors coming after him, Mark, but I think if you're the Bulls, you got to make sure that, you know, what else is out there first, number one? You know, what is better than him on the open market, okay? And then if there's not anyone better than him, then you quickly re-sign him, you know, to a reasonable contract because, you know, if the Bulls are going to re-sign him You know, he's going to have to understand that your market value is not as high as it was before injury.
