I recount Terry Hanratty's remarkable career path from Notre Dame national champion to a Steelers backup who earned two Super Bowl rings and then to an expansion Tampa Bay team that lost every game. I speak with Terry about the highs and the lows of that journey. We discuss the 1966 Notre Dame team, the Michigan State game, and his early years as a college starter. I ask about his time in Pittsburgh, the arrival of Terry Bradshaw, and the contrast between championship teams and struggling clubs. We also cover his recent diagnosis of stage four small cell lung cancer, his treatment at leading cancer centers, and his outlook. I thank Terry for his time and urge listeners to follow Hanratty's Huddle for further reflections. Terry HanrattyGuest

56:36

The three of us started this about two years ago and we're, you know, we're expanding it.

Terry HanrattyGuest

56:41

You know, we, we're, we, we loved on it.

Terry HanrattyGuest

56:43

We do it every week and you can go to Spotify and easily pick up.

Terry HanrattyGuest

56:48

And if you want to see a real listen to a really couple of good ones with two of them with Bradshaw and it's so long, it's only, it's a half hour show that we went for.

Terry HanrattyGuest

56:58

We went for Terry and I got on and we just start talking like you and I are talking.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:03

And the other two guys didn't say a word, but we had these stories going back and forth.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:07

And we just kept going.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:08

And it was all of a sudden an hour and a half.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:10

Yeah.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:12

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:15

It was really, really fun to do.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:17

And so we're going to have more and more guys.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:18

We've got people coming on next week.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:23

And, uh, but it's something with, you know, we all enjoy it.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:27

And we do a lot of Notre Dame, a lot of Steeler, obviously.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:31

And we do all sports.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:33

You know, I can't do hockey because I won't lie to anybody.

Terry HanrattyGuest

57:36

I don't know a damn thing about hockey.
